JUNGLE BOOK REDESIGN

DESCRIPTION

The Jungle Book redesign was a collaborative project, with my primary focus on the visual elements. I created chapter headers from watercolor paintings representing key moments in the story. Because the book is set in the forests of Central India, I explored a traditional Rajasthani miniature painting style developed in the area around 1500 C.E. I was inspired by the styles key characteristics, borders, dense narrative compositions, and flattened sense of depth to display the imagery in a culturally relevant context to reinforce authenticity. Thank you to Wren Richards and Ana Novoa for their collaboration and contribution to the project.
